Our Story
The Story of unzipping potatoes
Captain Spud’s Jacket Potatoes is a family run business from Stoke-on-Trent with over 10 years of experience in the catering industry. We started with a simple idea: to bring people a hot, fresh, and affordable meal at lunchtime: something filling, comforting, and made with care.
Our journey began in Stoke, where we opened our very first jacket potato van. The response was overwhelming. Customers loved it and kept telling us, “You should open another one in Stafford!”
The name Captain Spud’s is inspired by our grandad, whose love for sailing gave us the idea to bring a nautical touch to the brand. With this rebrand, our aim was to create something fun, approachable, and memorable for our customers.
Now, Captain Spud’s has officially docked in Market Square, Stafford with our first rebranded van. Bringing our classic jacket potatoes, generous toppings, and a big smile to every customer who comes aboard.
